30 May Madeleines Lavender
Living nearby the rural Milton, I have the great opportunity to be located near local farmers. Terre Bleu is one of them.
“Lavender evokes summer and France for me.”
Opened since 2014 (with previous 3 years of hard work), the Baird’s lavender farm is the largest organic lavender farm in Ontario (over 40,000 lavender plants). Once you arrive at Terre Bleu, there is no doubt the Baird family run the business with passion and love.
“When I arrived at the Terre Bleu I was amazed by the view.”
The things to see when you go there : guided tours, apiary, trail, equestrian, distillery, herb bar, farm store.
And then the miracle occured when I went inside the shop. Oh my god ! The relaxing aroma of the lavender fulfilled all my senses in just on breath in ! Every items in the shop come from the field.
“Harvested by hand, our lavender plants are then distilled or dried into a range of natural products”
“to make our very best handmade lavender products, so please set your expectations accordingly.”
This summer you know where to go. I could have bought everything !
I fall for the Lavender tea trio and the Lavender bud.
I have worked on a recipe to add the delicate flavour of lavender inside my Madeleines. After a bite it is like the sun comes through the rain.
Lovely Madeleines with a delicate and light flavor of lavender. They are delightful mouth watering. They are soft, light and fluffy in texture. Their shape are unique, the bump on one side and the shell on the other side.
